Full mouth rehabilitation - Multiple tooth loss
single tooth
| bone grafts | multiple
tooth
When multiple teeth are failing often due to periodontal (gum disease), then the same principles apply and a full mouth reconstruction can be undertaken. This type of treatment is of particular interest to Dr F Khan-Osborne and the FACE@52 Team.
Here the teeth are removed sequentially and replaced by provisional bridges are used to temporarily to maintain aesthetic as you undertake the various stages of treatment.
In this way a person can come into the surgery with unhealthy teeth and
leave on the same day with implants having been inserted into the tooth
sockets or surrounding healthy bone. Smile and function can therefore
be restored in one day. The final bridge is constructed some months later
when the gums have settled and the bone has strengthened.
The final construction of teeth in porcelain is achieved by following
a diagnostic preview that is waxed up prior to the start of the surgical
phase so that the patient’s final destination can be achieved in
a predicable way.
